Week 3: Resizing or Compressing Photographs

You will probably need to resize or compress photos if you uploading a number of photos to be viewed on a blog or wiki or other similar online tool. Here are the instructions for resizing photographs. The instructions are for MS 2003 but it works in pretty much the same way in later editions. The notes are for the purpose of resizing photographs to work in Paint. However the same rule applies whatever the purpose.



Week 5: Great tools for photos

This is a wonderful site to create interesting images with your own photos. You can use an image to make a cd cover, a motivational poster, a jigsaw, a magazine cover, a movie poster and more. Check out this site. It is fun and easy to use.

Week 9: Tagxedo

Another word cloud tool but a little different. This cloud tool enables to upload your words into a shape or upload your own shape to present your words. If you are doing the latter you need to have a fairly clean unfussy image. In the example below the photo that has been used for the shape was firstly compressed to document size and then uploaded into Tagxedo. Also in the layout options Allow Replications was ticked. This means if you don't have a lot of words, replicating them will show the image more clearly.
